There are eight planters and a small perennial garden that the Georges Mills Sunapee Gardeners plant, deadhead, cut back, weed, and water in Georges Mills. One planter is located at the Welcome Sign along Route 11 entering Georges Mills from the north/east on the Otter Pond side of the road. The sign was a project that obtained funds raised during the Beautification Project from selling a cookbook. Its theme is a Grist Mill that was once operating along the Otter Pond Brook.

Other planters are in the Georges Mills Harbor which was updated with new landscaping in the late 1980s. The Georges Mills Fire Station at the intersection of Jobs Creek Road and Route 11 also benefits from the efforts of the Georges Mills Sunapee Gardeners! There are 2 planters at the front of the fire station and 2 shaded planters on the roadside. On the east side of the fire station is the small perennial garden. The planters are planted every spring with flowers ordered from Jolly Farmer in conjunction with the Newbury Beautification Committee.

The beautiful perennials at the Fire Station are: False Blue Indigo (Baptisia), Yellow Day Lilies, Pink Spirea Bush, and White Astilbe. These are cut back in the fall and mulched in the spring. On the roadside of the building the gardeners placed stones for rain drainage off the roof and Hosta are planted in between the two barrels.

The flowers in the planters around Georges Mills are: Main Street Ruby Red Coleus, Nonstop Mocca Mix Begonias, Profusion Red Yellow Bicolor Zinnias, Silverdust Dusty Miller, and Rubin Purple Fountain Grasses.

These gardens are lovingly maintained and cared for by: Muriel (Garden Captain), Gigi, Hannah, Julie, Bernie, and Diane
