The Long Garden sits on the north side of Main Street, in front of Lake Sunapee Protective Association and extends down to Garnet Street. The original name for this garden was the Clara Osborne Garden. The Long Garden captains are Cathi and Louise. Their able advisors are long time Sunapee Gardeners Peggy and Ivy. The rest of the hardworking crew consists of Becky, Carol, Denise and husband Bob, Nancy, Marilyn, Jean, Sharon, Val, Carol, and Darlene.
The Long Garden is in the middle of a 5 year “redesign”. The “makeover” consists of transforming the Garden from mostly annuals to perennials and bulbs/rhizomes. Most of the perennials have been donated by Sunapee Gardeners both from their personal gardens and from the redesign of the Memorial Garden.
The rock wall along and behind the Garden is in need of repair and discussions are ongoing with LSPA and the Town of Sunapee about how to accomplish that.
